Festival Spectacles by Jeroen Mourik are theatrical dance performances by members of a community.
Artist in Residence, Jeroen Mourik, creates choreographies with local children and young people, at schools, sport clubs and community groups for festivals and special events.
Most productions involve more than 400 participants and the rehearsal time with the performers (the local children and young people) is seldom more than 3 hours.
Each production has a theme, often suggested by the hosting festival, and Mourik creates different elements with each group or class that during the Festival Spectacle come together like pieces of a puzzle.
